What's causing my whacked fuel trims?

Th issues I have been having before I got datalogged, that when I rev up the car while keeping the boost gauge in vacuum, the bypass valve makes a fluttering noise. When I'm in first gear and let off the throttle and the gauge go in vacuum, it the bpv flutters like wooshwooshwooshwoshwoshwosh. When I'm on the highway driving on 4th or 5th gear around 2500ish rpm and keep pressure on the gas pedal but let off a bit to slow down, the car hitches kinda like the throttle is slamming shut.
maybe you got a dirty throttle body. i was having some weird problems and thought maybe i had a dirty throttle body. Oiled filters and **** and different intakes sucking crap in. idk. figured it might be something to check out
Well, the symptoms of the surge or jerk when you let off or just give light throttle are from whacked out fuel trims. I had the issue over a year ago with an untuned Dejon intake and negative fuel trims.
The airbox mod w/K&N are shifting them some I'm sure.
If you still have the stock filter throw it in for a week, disconnect the battery to reset the fuel trims and see if that helps. The stock filter will bring the fuel trims more in line.
See, since going with the GMPP base tune and working from there, I do hear the BPV more when I let off a bit at cruse but no surging, just the whooooosh as it opens.

So I should just take the throttle body off and see if it needs to be cleaned.
Also iambroke- should I just get Vince to tune it to see what happens. Also I don't have the stock filter anymore, it's in the gfs car
Correct me if I'm wrong but the aftermarket ic would skew fuel trims a bit right?

yep
Well me and my friend both have experienced these issues our cobalts ar tuned and have bolt ons. My friend had the same issue with car cutting out in 4th and 5th dealership couldnt find out what was wrong took on test drive turns out it was fuel pump going bad at the higher speeds. with me whacked out fuel trims wind up being me blowing a map sensor if ur tuned pushing 23-26pounds those sensors dont holdup need 3bar map which comes with the stage one kit or u can by just the bosch sensors for like $20 from one of the vendors on here. the next time my car had severe loss of power had blown map sensor and solenoid wasnt closing causing vaccum leak which had me running 5lbs. check out the manifold pressure sensor that sensor goes out alot cause of the high boost.
injector settings under torque management???

Yes, torque management injector disable. Set the column to the far right (column 3 IIRC) all rows need to be set to 15 like stock so the DFCO works properly. All the other columns can be left at 0.

your tuner? If he was a tuner, then he would just log the car himself and tell you. Vince is your tuner here, this other "tuner" is just a medium for loading Vince's tunes.
yeah... talked with Area earlier... and that is what he came up with also.... LOLz dee dee dee moment

If you read I said I'm still trying to get the trifecta dealerim dealing with, to get the numbers from Vince and no I'm not guessing they are off. My trifecta dealer datalogged me and that's what Vince told him. Im may call Vince myself tomorrow
Ugh that would annoy me. You need someone who can not only tune and data log but also someone who can troubleshoot the hardparts on the car as well because more than likely you have a leak or other hard parts issue somewhere.
A tune may solve your issue but there is no guarantee without seeing the logs myself. Ask him if the MAF frequency is stable or erratic. A flaky MAF will be jumping all over the place with steady flow. By all over I mean from 10k to 15kHz to 10k ect., not just a few hundred Hz.
^^^ The reason I dropped the TF tune and went to HPT a year ago myself.

I just disconnected the maf and took it for a drive and there was no difference, so I'm guessing that the maf is fine.
I'm almost thinking about buying hp tuners if only I had the time and knowledge.

It is easier than you think. Just have to ask the right people the right questions.

So would these whacked fuel trims cause the turbo to spool up slower and make me loose trq? All the other issues I'm having are due to whacked fuel trims.
