2.0L LNF Performance Tech 260hp and 260 lb-ft of torque Turbocharged tuner version.

Why do people think the K04 is so small?

This turbo makes decent numbers but the powerband is very peaky . It might make 350 wheel but it doesn't make it for long ....thats where it's size shows itself. My opinion thou..... I'm not a turbo expert.

the ko4 itselft is a fairly decent size turbo for a "from the factory" car. but in terms of over all aftermarket turbos....its a tiny bish.

Exactly, I'm used to seeing all aftermarket turbos. This is the only stock turbo I've ever seen, so to me it's small.

If thats the way you want to think of it then there's a lot of people on EvoM that use happy dynos. Guess everyone that use 16g's are dumb but have fast cars.

Look at the stock turbos on the srt-4 neons and calibers, the are pretty close in size to the ko4.Realtune performance here in ojio has a stock turbo neon flirting with the 10 sec pass range. People think the are small because there are used to seeing semi turbos on a honda that makes shitty numbers.Imo think the ko4 is a good power maker with the right supporting mods and a good tuner.

No they don't. They have a stage three car in the 10's. The fastest stock turbo srt is 11.82.

Its not worth it man. You get minimal gains for the money plus it causes flutter. But some have tuned the flutter out somehow. Anyways, the guy over at bnrsupercars.com says he can take the k04 and put gt2871 internals in it, thus making it a twinscroll gt28...lol...Its a full swap of the internals, meaning compressor and exhaust wheels as well as the shaft and bearing. The numbers it puts out should be similar to an actual gt2871. Hes already done it to the speed3 k04 and they are quite popular. Lets see if he can do it to ours.
I would love to just bolt on some power rather than having to buy a 2500 turbo kit after all the boltons Ive already bought. I would like to be making 360whp efficiently, not by maxing out the stock one only to have it die later on. I lik emy balt and the LNF and plan on keeping it for a long time. I dont have krazy HP plans so this would be perfect if hes able to accomplish the swap.

In reality they are not that small. Not to mention much more power is going to be a hassle in FWD cars.

I come from a 2g DSM with the t-25's. Maybe I'm just being ignorant, but I'm pretty sure cars like the WRX were having problem getting over 300whp with the stock turbo. Even with the 1g DSM's. They have the 14B which is pretty small, but not that small, and it doesn't make 300whp unless you really put work in.
We are chevy guys 300 is weak

Actually, a turbo is technically considered an exhaust-driven supercharger
