wireing new gauges
i just ran the wires for my new defi gauges i didnt hook anything up, just checked the wires for the stock boost controler to see what they are, put everything back together cause it got late and i dont know how to wire it yet and my lights for my stock gauges dont work anymore, what the hell happened?? check fuses and they all look fine, radio knob lights work till u put em all the way dim then they shut off and u have to turn the key off and on to get em working, dimmer switch is not working at all, any ideas what could be wrong? i didnt mess with any wireing
well found the problem, parking light fuse, and wiper fuse for some reason blew to. must have grounded something out when i probed for power. lol now, can someone tell me how to hook up a defi racer gauge to the stock boost gauge wires.
i need a ground, constant 12v, ignition 12v, and lighting 12v for when u turn on the lights. so thats 4 wires, boost gauge only has 4 wires to and one is for boost so it really only has 3 so what are they can anyone help me? i dont want to have to pull wires all over the place to fuse boxes and crap, it takes to long.

Interior Fuse box will have constant 12, and ignition 12. Ground can be done right below the steering wheel, there is a metal piece. And lights, do you want a dimmer or what? You can go to the back of the dimmer switch on the dash for that.

ok guys i tried round 2 with the volt meter and this time i didnt pop any fuses, so for those of u who want to piggy off the wires from the stock boost gauge, here is what they are. Red(looks pink) is ignition, black is ground, gray is power for gauge lighting, and yellow is boost. there is no constant 12v so if u need that u have to run one from fuse box which isnt to hard and its nice that its only one. but for ground i recomend instead of splicing into the black and makeing more work, just use that big grounding bolt they got right there under the apiller. if it works well for volt meter, it will be fine for gauge ground.
Red - ignition
gray - lighting
yellow - boost
black - ground

Idk how it is on 2.2, 2.0 has the wires there already cause of the boost gauge. Best thing to do is use a multimeter and turn the lights on and off and see if that wire gets power when lights on and looses it when off. That's what I did
