ZZP Intake hose

They're supposed to have this soon. I like it because I can keep my stock air box set up with it....maybe do air box mod with it. Anyway, anyone familiar with this baby?

Cobalt & Ion ---> ZZ Performance

High flowing replacement intake tube, installs in place of the stock restrictive plastic intake. Allows you to purchase this along with a drop in K&N air filter in your stock air box.

How does the ZZP tube compare to the AEM unit?

The AEM intake tube tapers down very small before the last bend. We designed ours to maintain a larger diameter until it has passed the last bend before the turbo. Throughout that bend, our tube is nearly 1/2" larger ID than the AEM tube.

Hey Ron,
I own this intake tube. I have been running it for over 6months now.
when we put it on my car we made 7hp and 10tq's

we did a bunch of pulls and it is great.
Not just did I get great power I also can now hear my turbo.

they should have them soon and for under a 100$ Its a great deal.

I also have the airbox mod.

also we found out that the drop in filter really does not help(but I stilll use it)

Great...sounds like I'll be adding it.

This set up is just what I'm looking for. I can handle a few HP less than the K&N SRI. I don't want the K&N SRI for several reasons.
Fuel trims...sound is not my *cup of tea*...oil on MAF sensor *issue*...*stock look* is an advantage for warranty issues....intake air is NOT CAI like the stocker. I'm sure the vast majority of those here will beg to differ.

I would be in on this 100%

I wouldn't mind having to correct the fuel trims (this is going to skew them as well) but I don't want the sound I've heard out of the K&N SRI and I definitely like the "stealth" look.

There's no reason this setup, with a modded air box, couldn't be within less than a few HP of some of the best intakes. Possibly have better drive-ability to boot.

Come on ZZP!!!!

The problem with dyno testing a K&N SRI against a ZZP intake tube on stock airbox is that the K&N will benefit from the hood being open. There will be some airflow through the engine bay when driving at highway speeds, but it would be difficult to dupliacte accurately on the dyno. That means it would be tough to make an accurate comparison. As far as HP on the ZZP tube, we have the highest stock turbo dyno and highest 1/4 mile trap speeds for any Cobalt running the stock turbo, and we are running the ZZP intake tube. We also sell the K&N intake, so I'm definitely not just trying to bash a competing product.

This may be a stupid question.

I was looking at picture of this silicone hose compared to the aem cold air intake part. They look very similar. I was wondering if this silicone part could replace the smaller aem part.

Thoughts?
