We are talking about ceramic coating here......Is intent is to retain heat. Also his has nothing to do with a heat exchanger as this guy has an lnf so therefor no fluid is going through anything. Maybe I'm misreading what your saying here but metal will retain heat more then plastic regardless of the situation. I understand your point if your running hot fluid through it will remain constant with fluid temps but I don't think this is the same in an air case....... Metal heat soaks and doesn't dissipate heat anywhere near as fast as plastic will and also his pipes are powdercoated which is a well known heat retainer.

Engineering crossing over to car world, a heat exhanger can be an air to air system or air to liquid system (some reason the car world adapted heat exchanger for liq to air and intercooler for air to air). I was referring to it as a air to air, the difference in the pipes or the heat soak of the pipes will have little affect on IATs. Since air is such a crappy conductor of heat, I don't see a powder coat or ceramic coating affecting anything other than thermal resistance or corrosion resistance. Now if there is data from actual experiments in controlled conditions with good recording equipment I'll concede that powder coating or ceramic coating effects heat retention/transfer.

Sounds like your ambient temp sensor is not functioning correctly. Mine will get stuck on a temp for awhile then jump to the correct temp. Grab a basic thermometer and determine what the actual ambient air is (don't put it in direct sunlight, that will give a false high ambient)

Probably cheap enough to just replace right? Lol

I know someone mentioned the RPD not being actual, does anyone know about the HP / TQ gauge? Its bhp not who obviously right? Sounds like a dumb question.

Sensor data is what it is. Calculated hp through the rpd though is questionable to say the least.

Well I'm going to a car show next week and they got a mobile dyno I'll throw it on there and see how it does.

No clue I never really cared enough to replace it, with the K&N intake the IAT1 while driving is 1-2F off ambient. So I use my IAT1 for my ambient temp gauge

It should be pretty close with the AEM as well. What's the difference between your IAT1 and IAT2?
