to install these you have to pull the head right with the retainers? when i did my build i just put the ZZP #78 springs in because there was not talk of doing cams at the time and since im on stock cams there was not need for retainers.

Stage 2 cams are a bit out and will be more as they will require lash adjusters or different lifters.
i would love to see how these cams would do on your s252 or 256 since i will be running a 5857 which is kindve similar

I'll be patient for the stage 2 cams. I think after my compound build, which will be in 2 months anyway................I'll be able to wait for the bigger cams for several months!

by the way Zoomer, with this stage 1 cams, will you guys hold a CORE program or some sort? If so, how much will it cost for the stage 1 cams, if you guys get the stock cams from a buyer?

Thanks!

Ryan ZZP just answered my question on PM. Unfortunately, ZZP currently will not offer core program for these cams.

I tried guys!

but this is how it goes in this COMMERCIAL world!

Price is high, if the commodity is wanted. It goes down, if its not needed.

ZZP in my opinion, has the right to sell these cams for whatever price they want, since they did a lot of R&D and money on these cams. They're the only company who offers these cams.

Unless there's another company out there who sells aftermarket cams, then ZZP is the only choice.

Do I hear a group buy?

i talked to comp cams yesterday they want core cams and 4gs lol to make a set , idk if zzp makes there own cams or if there using and out sourced company.....that could be why they are priced high?.. I did noticed there site had the cams on it (i check after their FB post) yesterday i was a little shocked on the price tag also i thought maybe around 4 and some change but like you said there is alot of r&d so i guess it is what it is. we will have to pay there price because at the moment they are the only ones. i hope for a group buy also that's when i might get into it. I know some people look at it as its 699 i could use towards a turbo swap or something else but with zzps history im sure they are worth it. Its just convincing everyone else that they are

Me to, but I'm not paying $700 to find out, maybe if I catch a good ZZP sale I might drop some money on them and try them.

I'm would to be curious to know how many of the whiners that wanted the cams available seperate are dropping the money on them now that they made them available.

you know what......I just realized that another Vendor (kappa community).......is developing head porting and cams! They actually emailed me this a few months back.

so I think they'll be releasing these cams sooner or later.....

prices will be very competitive, once that happens......

But they need to have to support their power claims though...........just like what ZZP provided us

Some other company will just buy the ZZP cams copy them and re-sale them for cheaper.
Thats how it always works out in the performance world as far as camshafts go.
Very very easy to copy and re-badge as joe blows cams, unfortunatley.

^this. Grinding cams is not that expensive if you have the set measurements. You will see cams pop up soon for under $500 and they'll be suspicously the same dimensions as ZZPs.

You can get that on the stock cams if you program the ECM to overlap the valve timing.
