Ok gang,

here's the problem'
I purchased my 06ss/sc from a dealer preowned with 43,500 on the odo. I changed the oil as soon as I got it home with an ac filter and mobil 1 5/30. I went 700 miles and it was down a quart. after another 300 miles I changed it again, and thesame thing happened. I was using a quart every 700 or so miles.

I then changed it again, only this time, I used mobil 1 5/30 "high mileage" formula. not only did the oil stay cleaner longer, but It stopped using oil.

This went on for the next 3 changes.

This past change however, my local store was out of the high mileage so I bought the mobil 1 5/30 "heavy service" formula instead. So far it hasn't been using oil but any time it sits for more than 4 hours, the oil pressure light take 3-4 seconds to go out upon startup.

as of now, the odo is reading 49800.

Any thoughts.

I really wish I could talk to the previous owner..............

sounds like a bad pressure switch or excessive bearing clearance
