07 lsj e85 questions
So i have been looking to jump on the "e wagon" with my balt, but i have questions that i have not really found answers to. I have read ebristol's threads and others on e85 and have seen good results so i am thinking its time to do it.
my mods right now are gm stage 2, option b, dual pass, smoothflow 2.9 pulley, stock air box filter mod, fuel pump rewire, zzp phenolic intake spacer, badmab shorty header, zzp 2.5 catless down pipe bolted to stock exhaust, hptuners pro, and lc-1 wideband.
future mods to be decided, bigger heat exchanger, larger injectors 60's/80's(i am looking at 80's for growth), smaller pulley 2.8/2.7, and clutch.
1. what do most people find to be the sweet spot for hp, mpg, and engine life, straight e85 or e47 blend?
I have e85 pump and 93e10 nearby so I can blend 1:1.
2. should i upgrade to a better fuel pump if i run 80's on e85/e47 blend?
have 28k on my stock pump.
that's it for now if I think of any other questions(that i don't find on my own) i will ask.
thanks for your time

Yes upgrade your fuel pump and get some 80's. If you read up you will see that people are making about the same power with an e47 blend as they are with an e85 full tune. I run an e47 blend, but will run 93 in the winter, just because e85 fluctuates in the winter here in Illinois
i run 80s injectors and 2.7 pulley on e85, it runs great. just shy of 300 whp. on stock pump by the way have have ran this setup for more than a year through winter and everything, and haven't had one problem.

On average I get 19mpg with E85. But that is will a mix of city and country. On the highway, I get 22-23mg if I ***** foot it.

im a 2007 ss sc on e85 with a 2.8 and 60# and nos...with a idc of 95% @ 7500 rpm
my car idles better than stock with the a/c on or off.
I am running a TVS with a 2.7" pulley, 80# injectors with an OTTP RSFS with the base pressure set at 50 psi.
The RSFS allows me to lower the fuel pressure for more precise fueling under light loads.

The secret to getting better fuel economy with E85 is to add timing in the timing table where the car cruises.
