12.5psi???

My Bypass valve was loose and slightly moved, so I tightened the bolts back up and the boost level was diff.

After reading on the internet, I learned these are hand set by eaton and should not be moved. That explained the diff.

After inspecting a local dealers bypass and adjusting, I am now reaching 12.5psi at about 6k in third gear.

Is this right, I don't remember??? Or are you guys hitting and holding the 12.5 dash for awhile? If so, what rpm/gears are you reaching 12.5psi?

PLEASE REPLY, I really want this back to normal. I'm sure you understand how sick this makes me, lol.

-Thanks

I don't see it being a major problem. You can't always go by the guage anyways cause they aren't 100 percent accurate.

Well There def. was a diff, even if the guage is inaccurate.

I was only getting 10psi, then after adjusting it would reach one line above 10psi which is 11.25.

Now I finally hit two lines above ten, which is 12.5psi. I may even go a hair over. The only thing is...I hit that just before the rev limiter, about 6k rpm.

Can someone tell when you guys reach 12.5psi, what rpm/gear? I can only get it in 3rd+, as they run longer.

Thanks, I just need to know if its back to normal or not. I feel much better when it is.

1260miles...

I know you guys do reach 12.5psi, but thats not my question.

I'd like to know WHEN you guys are hitting 12.5 ???

I'm hitting it in 3rd+gear, at about 6k rpm. Should I be acheiving full boost sooner?

-Thanks

Supercharged engine curves are linear. If you look at a dyno sheet, you will the most power is made closest to the redline, that is when the s/c is making the most boost due to the fact that the engine rpm is at its highest point. Hope this helps. It seems the norm around here is 12.5-13 psi.

My friends dad is actually one of the people running the lordstown plant and he told me that there is something you can do to the wastegate and bypass valve to get more horse power and boost. plus i wouldnt be worried about making more boost which is what it sounds like is happening

Thanks guys!

Yeah if I was making MORE boost, that wouldn't be a problem.

My problem was it was only holding 10psi til redline, then I got it up to 11.25psi.

Now I finally have it that it hits the 12.5psi, just before the rev limiter.

I forgot how it was stock, so I was just wondering if you guys acheive 12.5psi early (say 5k?) and hold it til redline??? If so what rpm do you achieve it?

Also I def. cant get it in 1st or 2nd gear, only third and up. Is that normal, or does it still seem a little off???

each dash is 1.25psi, the black dash between 10 and 15 is the 12.5psi mark.

If you are a hair over it may be 13psi.

Can you please answer this question, what gears and what rpm do you finally reach 12.5psi???

is there a way to adjust your bypass valve to allow boost in sooner than it is now?

alright im a ******* it goes like this
1st to 10 psi by48oo rpms the line right before the 5 stays like that till i shift
2nd when i shift outta 1st it lands at the line right before the 5000 the boost gauge goes rights to the first line after the 10psi mark goes to the black line by the time im ready to shift at 6300 or 6400
3rd gear it goes stright past the the black line thats inbetween 10 psi and 15 psi as soon as the gear grabs at 5000 didn't have room to go to 4th hope that clears it up

We're not gonna hit full boost until amost redline cuz the blowers need engine rpm to spool up.. getting 10psi at 2500rpm isn't really happening. your gage is messed up.

yeah i know i changed what i said from my other post. So let me say it again i am not hitting full boost by 2500 rpms. and also on my one two shifts it varies if i shift bad the rpms drop to like 3900 and it takes the boost a little longer to hit max. but when im in third its past the 12.5 mark way before redline between 5300 and 5500 rpms. but hell i got no vids or picks so what i say means dick.
