Exclamation MAP/MAF correlation problem- PLEASE HELP

i have an 06 ss s/c. it only has about 25K on it and recently the factory replaced my s/c cause of an internal issue. but now the engine is cutting out at about 4000 RPM's in every gear. even as low as 3000 in 5th gear. every time this happens(which is every single day all the time) my boost gauge goes over the stock 12.5psi and goes all the way to about 15 or 16. the engine doesnt shut off, but it just kinda "floats." yesterday on the highway it overboosted and BAM check engine light and ENGINE POWER REDUCED came on. shut it off, restarted it and it worked fine. engine codes said something about a MAP MAF correlation. i dont know why its overboosting, or what went wrong. but you cant have much fun shifting at 4000. i need help cause my warranty is only a powertrain one now. please if you know anything as to what went wrong, please re-post. my wife is freaking out....

clogged cats will cause you to get higher psi and run poorly

Clogged CATs

really? wiht only 25K would it really be clogged already? so a clogged cat could make my engine overboost, which would trigger a failsafe between the MAP and MAF sensors. does that sound about right? im bringing it to chevy tomorrow to have them take a peek.

clean the map and maf had the same problem the pressure difference between the 2 sensors is off by to much, which means there dirty or bad

ok sweet! so im going into chevy now and ill come back with more info. to have the dealer clean them i hope its cheap. cause im betting that sensors fall underneath the electrical warranty which is expired... thanks all of you for the information, it was very helpful. and if its a CAT then that is covered under the emissions warranty which is still good. thanks alot guys

ok update... ive only had this car a couple months but the air filter has NEVER been replaced. the dumb ass mechs. at chevy spent an hour on it and still couldn't tell me ****. my guess, either the cat, or the filter causing the MAF to read lower pressure, but then the MAP reading high pressure and causing the problem. boost reached 20psi today when mech drove it. any other comments would help alot. i guess there was a throttle body code too. it says its opening and closing properly but the guy was an idiot and couldnt explain why or what the code was for...

MAFs dont read pressure. a clogged cat can throw a MAP/MAF correlation code. MAP see's high boost, which tells the ECU high airflow numbers, but the MAF isnt seeing the high airflow numbers

Sounds like a clogged cat, the MAF will read a lower amount of airflow as pressure increases in the intake manifold due to a clogged cat, as this pressure rises the MAP sensor will show the increase so the correlation is correct. If the air is not leaving the exhuast no new air can enter resulting in low MAF readings.

alright. thank you guys alot. its been a huge help. on thursday chevy is going to do a massive array of tests cause i raised hell about their shitty mechanics and work ethic. and anything working improperly will be replaced under factory warranty. i guess its throwing a throttle body code out too. which isnt performance related, just something to do with the locking function for the cruise. either way it will get fixed, and all free. it does sound like a clogged CAT. sorry about the misprint. i meant the MAF sensor reading airflow, not pressure, cause the MAF isnt in positive boost.
