12.9 to 13.2 possible with new upgrades?

So i am wondering if 12.9 to 13.2 is possible with my setup.

I am currently a 06 SS/SC with 42's, 3' Catless DP, Injen Intake, 2.9 Pulley and GM3+Trifecta+BYT Tune.

I am putting on 60's and a 2.8 Pulley with a ZZP S3 Heat Exchanger and getting retuned by BYT hopefully this weekend.

Just had the car at the track last week for a few runs and pulled a 13.485@104.1.
I am wondering what i could expect with the new upgrades and retune.

Is a 13.0 impossible with this setup. Did have some wheel hop last time which is kind of unusual for my car. Interested in hearing what you guys think. Dont plan on going slicks at all and would prefer to keep my runs on street tires.

Here is my last run at the track:

You need some tires and mounts on that bad boy, then you will see much different times. BUT on the same setup, prolly pretty reasonable to expect a lower 13 and lil better trap.

^^^ Agreed. If you're laying down a 2.0 60ft on street tires now. Mounts and radials or slicks would cut you a much better 60ft and make a real difference in you're 1/4 mile. Especially at the sweet ass tracks you race at. Watching you're vid and looking at the prep work makes me so jealious lol

Well 60's, 2.8 and ZZP S3 are going on the car this week. While the Front & Rear ZZP Trans Mounts & strut bar are being put on next week. When i get back from VA the car should be ready and good to go.

Looking at getting slicks right now but really have no idea what tire size or combo to get.
Searching the forum to see what people are going with but dont see to much yet.

yah the more sidewall the better the bite, typically.

25 seems kinda small but im used to runnign a nova with a 454 and 28 inch slicks, any smaller and its just too little. whats the final drive in an SS/SC??

25 is actually just a little big for these cars. Most guys prefer 24.5"

He was running slicks and the best he did was a 13.7? Or was it just a GM2 & Intake if so thats not bad at all. I pulled a 13.617@103 with GM2 and intake.

to the OP, you need slicks. With that newfound power, you might pull a 13.0 with slicks.

It should be interesting, for some reason everyone doubts the car will break 12's without slicks. I personally think otherwise. THe meth is not even installed yet and the car is way way quicker than before.

I might be put in my place. I guess i feel a little cocky since i ran better than most with way less mods and no slicks. No offense on this comment to anyone.

It's only the truth. You've proven it.

Not saying its going to happen because you have impressive times for your last setup. But you also gotta remember, without slicks and all those extra parts with extra power, will make it harder to hook up. So you might get the same ET but your traps will be faster.

The car will be more than capable of running those times. Meaning it should def have enough power to obtain your goals. The new issue will be traction (like mentioned above), and almost re-learning how to drive the car again. Interested in your final results!

This is what i hear alot as well and i do agree. I never had a problem getting off the line with 253hp and i dont think i am pushing over 270ish yet either. I might be 50% throttle out of the hole and dont hit the gas until i am moving. Its whats gotten me really consistant 60ft times.

Launching with the WOTBox and slicks will be even better later this season.
