1st to 2nd Gear Sux @ WOT ?
The search isn't working for me today...
The problem i'm having is the following...
If I go to shift from 1st to 2nd gear @ WOT the car wont shift properly and get stuck...
The shifter will be in 2nd gear but the rpms are stuck on 6ks or whatever the rpm's are, then inorder to get it to shift I have to let go of the gas for like 2 or 3 seconds then it'll go to second and the rpms will drop down...
I've swapped clutches not too long ago, it happened with a stock clutch and my current stage 2 clutch so i know its not the clutch, transmission was replaced about 15 k's ago...
Would it be a matter of adjusting cables ?
Would it be the linkage pin ?
Syncros ? Hope Not
Change Transmission Fluid ?
Any ideas are much appreciated...

I'm a 100 % sure its not the clutch or flywheel the clutch doesnt slip at all !!!! i don't know if this helps sometimes i when i want to shift to another gear 3rd to 4th it wont let me do it even if i try to force it " no thats what she said jokes please " I would have to let it roll for a second or two then clutch again and force it in and goes through fine....
Sooooooo.... so let me get this straight...
you push in the clutch...put the car in 2nd ...let out the clutch when this happens
There are only 2 things that can be happening , wheel spin or clutch slip ...that's it.
your 3rd and 4th gear problems are due to toasted syncros
<mini rant> i miss the days when car people took the time to learn how cars worked </mini rant>

Im still tring to fully understand what your saying.
Are you saying you put the car 2nd gear and let the clutch out while still on the gas? if so that's a slipping clutch or just the wheels spinning.
A manual tranny is all mechanical , if the shifter is in 2nd then the trans is in 2nd,if you had broken shift linkage the shifter would just be loose inside the car as a result of not being attached to anything. or if the linkage was loose the shifter would have a lot of extra play but that wouldn't cause the problem you are describing.
the only part that would let the engine freewheel like that is the clutch. another thing would be a slave cylinder that isn't disengaging all the way thus causing the clutch to slip, but you would get a hard clutch peddle as a result of something like that.
the only other thing i could think of would be broken shift fork inside the trany ,then it wouldnt engage a gear no matter what you did,it would ether be stuck in one gear or just not go into gear, and the shifter would feel detached .plus the fact that as the rpm drop the trans "engages" tells me its not a shift fork.
Sounds like the clutch is toast.
now if you push and hold in the clutch and the shifter wont slide into gear until the rpms drop that's a syncro problem. from what you describe it sounds like you have both problems. From what i gather im gonna beat you beat on this car pretty good eh?
The only reason i made my comment at the bottom of my last post is becasue people are telling you whats wrong but you aren't accepting the answer.

Thanks a lot for your answer man, i really appreciate the explanation, it makes sense now, this is not my 1st car 2nd or 3rd, this is my 5th manual transmission car, i know how to drive and i know cars too, but not everybody knows every little detail, thats why I ask questions, now im in 1st gear lets say going 10mph i step on it all the way, i get to 6ks, i take my foot off the gas then engage the clutch, shift to 2nd gear, then step on the gas again. however it seems like its stuck in 1st gear, i would have to take my foot off the gas and then it will shift again.
I never ever launched the car coz i don't stiff mounts yet, but i do step on it in 1st gear like once or twice a month, i don't get any wheel hop but thats a diff. subject....
I baby my car, i never took it to the track or anything like that, its my DD so i take good care of it... so i guess we'll see whats going on with it today... but yeah thanks again for the response man...
clutch slip, if it feels like its in 1st when u are in 2nd, thats the clutch not catching
learn to control the boost and it wont slip.
sounds like u hit 6k in 1st and when u hit it in 2nd it slips resulting in the car trying to go but it wont and it u dont get off u will toast the clutch

when you say you take your foot off the gas and it will shift again, are you saying it feels like it shifts ? or are you taking it out of 2nd and putting back into 2nd by hand?
If it feels like it shifts then most likely clutch.
also is there any smell when this happens.
anything can cause a slipping clutch, could be a bad main seal on the engine, or tranny oil leaking on the clutch from a cracked trans or leaking tob/slave/seal
I am not so sure its slipping. I am having the same issue. For me 1-2 was bad right after a clutch swap. 2-3, 3-4, 4-5 work, but it seems stiff. I will be adjusting my shifter cables before the weekend.
I have a brand new GMPP clutch, flywheel, TOB, and all new fluid. Clutch was broken in for 500 KM, many heat cycles over almost a week.
I will update when I have done the adjustment.

few more question. DO you have any issues when driving normal ?

The car is at the shop now he's taking it for a test drive soo we'll see what happens
Ladies And Gents The Problem Has Been Found And Resolved....My Linkage Roll Pin Was Shattered , We Got That Replaced And The Car Runs Sweeter Than Before, The Shift Feels So Much Better Than Before, We Also Readjusted The Shifter Cables Just To Make Sure Everything Is To Specs , I Can Shift From 1st To Second Normally Without Any Problems Whatsoever, All Gears Engage Properly...Clutch Seems Fine With No Slippage And There Was No Need To Open The Transmission Up.
Thanks for everybody's opinions and trying to help !!!!
I'm a happy camper now
