Does anyone know if this crate engine comes with an ECU or would you have to run a standalone with it. (i'm not going to try and source an ECU out form a crashed SS or redline.) And i figure if it doen't come with one, the Stand alone EMS would offer great tuning possibilities.

Probably not, but you can pick up an ECM for less then $100 at a salvage yard

I'd like to know where you found one because i doubt there are many that have been totaled.
You can't just use oone from ane ecotec 2.2L can you?

I've seen a blue SS/SC at the salavage yard already. The back bumper is on the front seat. It got smashed in from the back and the back seat is now in the front. The motor is gone and the sunroof is missing.

Everything else is in tact. The rims are on it still, stratched but ok and it has one flat tire.

 

A good salvage yard removes the engine with all the acessories + wiring harness with ECM. You can buy the ECM alone off them for cheap, Just try and locate a 2.0L Ecotec engine, don't look for a car. I don't know if you can use the 2.2L ECM or not.
