2.5 pulley question

I have heard that a 2.5 pulley allows the belt to slip. is this true? i have the factory belt with an over sized pulley tensioner. curious if i should go 2.6 or 2.5

Get teh stage 2 belt with an adjustable tensioner and it wont slip.
