I definately pull harder w/ a 2.8 then the stock stage 2. from a 40 - 100 roll a 3 car difference. Yes, this was verified. My bro had a red line and we both got the same mods. We where dead even when we both had stage 2. I got the 2.8 put on and I beat him by 3 cars.
maybe he gained weight.

Well, I have officially been scared away from a 2.6. I think I am going to go w/ a 2.7 60's and a tune. I think I will also go w/ a H/E. W/ the above, would I really need meth? Im afraid to do meth because, what if I run out, and dont know and then try to floor my car and it go boom! = bad

You wouldn't need meth with a 2.7. It wouldn't hurt but with the extra HE, you should be able to keep temps managable.

so going from a 2.8 to a 2.7 60's and a tune, what kind of HP can I expect to gain?

Will I notice a dip in MPG by going to the 60's?

FYI, I made more hp with a 2.8 than another guy with a 2.7.
There is a hell of a temp difference between the 2.

Your best bet is to try to stick to 15 or less psi while using the M62. I'm running a 2.9" pulley and topping out at 14.7~14.8psi right now, though I was hitting as high as 17psi before I got my full exhaust in.

So a quicky...
<2.9" = 55#+ injectors, with 2.9" being really borderline *1
>15psi = to small a pulley for you on the M62, see below
+ power = reduced restrictions & other flow work
+ cooling = + saftey & stable power
custom tune = best bang for your buck your going to get
return fuel system = simplified tuning and more out of your injectors

*1 = 2.9" w/ 42# injectors, I didn't run lean at all. However, my injectors would go static at ~6.5k rpms. Just a word of warning.
I agree, pushing above 15, definitely if you're above 16 psi, is not good for efficiency with the supercharger. I've been holding good around in around 15.4 psi at 7200 rpm with a 2.9" pulley.

But with 42lbers i also have the problem of static injectors starting around 6000 rpm, it gets to be about 12.3 afr by redline causing a little bit of knock for the last 1k rpm. 60's are on the way though.

I have dual pass, option b, bigger pump and front mount h/e and i still see above 150 iat2's in some long WOT runs, with a 2.7 or less i would think meth would be in order. My plan is a 2.8", once the 60's are in, and porting of the intake manifold to keep up the s/c efficiency.

just becuase you run something does not mean the car likes you, i ran a 2.5" for almost two years but it takes a lot to keep it cool

It's not so much a matter of what cooling mods you have as much as it is a matter of KNOWING HOW LONG OYU CAN FLOOR IT AND HOW OFTEN. If you look at your IAT2 temps they will appear to drop quickly, but that's because your bypass valve reroutes air before the rotors, and you don't see how hot the blower still is. Then people race on the streets and blow the hell out of their motor.

Tell me ONE person who blew their motor at the track? That's where racing on the 2.6 and 2.5 should be kept. Because anything more than 15 seconds is TERRIBLE for your motor on those pulleys.

pretty much....however with a smaller pulley you hit boost quicker so ergo more heat....you'd have to baby it or you can be safe an spend 400$ an be good...(meth) & FMHE

Another poor driving habit is flooring the car in the wrong gear or at too low of an rpm.

You can't just carelessly floor a FI car. If it were N20 you would blow your manifold clear off the first time you tried that. But seriously. Try not to floor the car below 3500rpms while in gear, and be in the right gear. That noise that sounds like loose change in your engine bay (if you turn your stereo down) is actually not the sound of your lucky day.

I would like to add a little note to my last post.

Though I do say to keep it under 15psi, if at all possible you should be targeting 10~12psi with the M62.

You were running about 30 degrees cooler IAT2 I think at the end of the pulls.
