2.7 and 42s

just wondering how many people are running 2.7 pullies with 42lb injectors? I spoke with zzp yesterday and sent them a copy of my dyno run with a/f ratio and they said i could even run one more size smaller im running there custom tune with 2.8 right now... what do you guys think about this?? the idc is at 80-90% at wot at 7300rpm my elevation is nearly 3000ft and im only getting 15-16lbs boost with 2.8

Way to close for comfort.

Personally I wouldn't run anything less than a 2.8 on 42lbers

I ran 42's and a 2.7 for a while and the car did not like it at all, the idc were wild, and the a/f would go nuts in the upper rpm levels.

damn there are countless arguments on the forums of how unsafe a 2.8 is with 42s, and your asking if a 2.7 is ok?

yeesh.

well i quess i should have went more into detail but i didnt so here we go : my elevation is nearly 3000ft (less air) my tune is commanding a much leaner a/f ratio then stock stage 2 (thus using less injector) and my idc is at 70-78% at wot at 7300rpm so that tells me i have a little more injector left

im at 3000ft.
and 2.8 was still giving me 120%

I find it hard to believe your legitimately running that IDC.
I smell an error somewhere in the mix.

^ I second anomalous.

A 78% IDC is outstanding for a 2.8 with 42lbers. No matter what the elevation.

with the S2 tune it was even higher.

that was after custom tuning and leaning out to 11.5 AFR and only 7k RPM

yeah 100 is wide open. get 60's.. seeing near 90 isnt great but you shouldnt run into prob's.. but i dont think the 7+ rpm range is very smart. damn near over spinnin the blower.
