this e85 tune **** is all new to me. how hard is it to get in texas? and, how hard is it to tune for it? please go into depth...

 

I'm going to get a dyno done sometime. My problem is I can't make up my mind for when I want to go back to KC for leave.

I want to be there for my buddies 21st bday in July, and I want to be there for a touring club day on HPT, and I want to be there for a dyno day like you guys had before.

Not enough leave days in a year!

Once you try it you will not have a problem driving 30 miles for it.

Its as easy to tune for as regular gasoline. All you need is bigger injectors to handle the increase in fuel. Then you tune for it just like dino fuel.

The main difference is that you can add 5-8 degrees of timing to your timing table.

 

I can understand that, but it pretty kills my ability to go out of town without reverting back to regular 93.

you are right. It is probably a good time to discuss why big power numbers are so important? At a little over 300 whp, I need full R100 Hoosier race slicks to put the power down, street tires just smoke, on the race track. Then with R100 slicks the powersteering goes on sick leave... I would guess different tunes for different situations and 4 sure even 300whp is silly for the street...

the only thing that changes in my tunes from the street afr/timing to dyno afr/timing is compensation for lack of air flow in the fuel side. timing doesn't change. afr gets scaled to mimic the street afr. nothing more. so realistic numbers.

 

i found out today that they tuned car on the safe side

 

So basically, that should tell you to buy a wideband. And have your car tuned properly. I would be extremely pissed if my 2.8 car dyno'd at 250whp.
