So I want to put my 2.7 on with a ZZP dyno tune, but I'm not able to get E yet. From what i have read I don't need meth unless I get really aggressive with the tune right?

You don't NEED meth. Although, meth would be very beneficial. Along with meth, you could also probably drop to a 2.6.. but you can have an aggressive tune without meth, but you can have an aggressiveR tune with meth.

 

There really is no reason to go lower than a 2.7, you only gain torque and you generate A TON more heat. I don't have a dual pass yet so that would vary my selection a little as I plan on E in the spring when It's back to E-80 here.

Heat depends on the blower rpm. M62 on stock cams quits making power around 6.5k rpm. A 2.7 at 6.5k rpms spins the blower at 15,648. A 2.6 at 6.5k rpm spins the blower at 16,250. Not much of a difference in rpm or heat. M62 is efficient to 16,000 rpm. 250 rpm over that is nothing. I like my 2.6 way more than a 2.7.

I DD my car so the 2.6 would be overkill to me, I'm even still on the fence of the 2.7 but I traded for it so meh. When tax season comes around I'm ordering a few things to finish off my car.

I'll talk to Tim at ZZP, since he will be tuning my car. When tax time comes around I'll be grabbing a dual pass, interceptor, and WB o2. Christmas time I think I'm snagging a 3in DP instead of the 2.5 i Have and ZZP'S 3in CB. Then I'm done with it lol.

I want to go TVS, but i've realized that putting money into a car that's not paid off is not a great idea. Plus I could be saving for better things. 300whp on the M62, or really close and I'll be happy. E-85 will be in the works for spring.

 

That's what I kept telling myself. I run a 2.6" as a DD with meth and now want to go TVS in the spring haha.
