2.8 to 2.7
meth should be enough for cooling, but you could benefit from a good front mount h/e.
It doesnt kill reliability in terms of your blower, but as with anything, the car is only as good as its tune.
Gains, not a hell of alot. a few whp.

2.8 to a 2.7 isn't really going to gain much in all reality, its just going to over-spin your blower and create more heat. Hell if you want to be technical if you don't have the proper cooling mods you could be LOSING hp due to excessive heat.
Meth would be enough for cooling more then likely however a heat exchanger and or dual pass would also help of course.
I don't recommend dropping lower then a 2.8 unless you really have to for those "dyno numbers" because those smaller pulleys create A LOT of heat. Also considering you don't have an interceptor I really recommend against it. You have no way of monitoring your iat2's let alone knock.

I am running a 2.7 on my setup, and I can tell you it makes a lot of heat.
I am running meth, a H/E and GM Dual pass with option B, and at the end of the strip I was seeing 152-158 F IAT2 temps, and it was probably about 65 degrees outside at the strip.
Now I am trapping pretty high in the 1/4, but it is still a lot of heat, so you need to be careful on the street, and you need some way to monitor the IAT2 and knock.

rico - you would be getting that if you were at the track though. Consider when your staging your temps can be like 120+ and by the time you finish your run you can be at 150+.
My pump is on its way out also right now but I have bigger fish to fry before I fix that issue.
