2.85 installed!!
^^ that was my question as well...I can't afford HPT, and nobody in Utah has it. I'm thinking of going with 2.9", but was wondering if I could even go to 2.85" without any tuning/belt/tensioner/injector problems
i switched to the 2.85 and the damn tensioner went out on mine and ate up my stage 2 belt...but i got it replaced under warranty (got the hook up at the dealer) and now its all good. 2.85-2.8 is the smallest you can go without upgraded injectors, not sure about tensioners, but the 2.8 is pushing the limits of the injectors.
But the pull on full boost WOT is awesome, and it makes the blower scream a little more...

you can go without atune and injectors but it isnt as reliable. i have hpt and im only stage 2. when running the tests your injector duty is around 110-120 percent duty. at your peak rpms (6500-7000).
so technically u can run it but i definetly recommend a tune and 60lb injectors for reliability

I herd some people are running 100+ IDC on the stock stage 2 pulley and even on a all stock car. I think it all depends on your elevation. The higher elevation the smaller pulley you can go with to a certain extent. Even at a high elevation a 2.8 and maybe a tune would be the smallest I would go with on a 2.8. The are just my thoughts don't take them for fact. If you plan on messing around with GET SOME MONITORING so you are not flying blind and can make some what of real judgment. Just because your car feels good and is running good doesn't mean it really is.
Agreed, had to take my 2.85" off bc the eaton couldn't take the heat, and started knocking.....but it does make a difference compared to the 3.066" that comes with a stage 2....
Hey quick noob question. I have the stg 2 setup, so are smaller pulleys plug and play or do i need a pulley puller to yank them off still? If so i guess the sc needs to come off the block b/c there is no other way to get the puller in right?
You DO NOT need a puller puller if you have a stage 2 kit to remove the pulley! Just the tool that came with the kit. Use that tool, loose the bolts take a 15 mm wrench on the tensioner and the pulley will pop wright off.
