I'm 100% this has been discussed before, but searching it seems damn near impossible. Lots of threads, not much of an answer.


My question to you is what did you guys do for a header? I read the post from Halfcent that we can't get any headers due to having SAI (secondary air injection). I want to order my exhaust but am afraid to buy it and have it throw codes all day long.

I was planning GMPP Honed Header, XTC DP, and the GMPP Sport Exhaust - but once again... The header is kicking my ass.....

I thought this was on the 2007 models only? I'm not sure man.

the SAI is on the 2.2s. Never heard of it being on the 2.0s. Tons of 06 guys have put aftermarket headers on their 2.0s

 

Yes, the SAI is only on 2.2's and 2.4's. No need to worry.

 

Just a side note, that's not a header...that's only an exhaust manifold.

 

yeah dude.. its only on some of the 2.2s.. u can easily check to see if u have it buy looking at your header.. if u have one than do exaust just dont do header.. if u dont ur lucky

 

yeah u dont have to worry bout that. i would personally get the XTC header. its a better design then the GM one. then go with the XTC downpipe with the GM exhaust. that would sound nice and give u some good added HP.

 

just as a off topic side note, 05BlackCobaltSS, I really like your door sills and valve covers, i am going to have to get me some of those....

 

Ok, I thought Halfcent said that it applied to the 06SS owners as well.

I looked into the Hahn setup last night - almost had a heart attack at the price of it.

I almost want to put a part of their system on my car, maybe the downpipe? LOL

 

the 06 SS/NA not the 06 SS/SC maybe...I know teh SC doesn't have it. No idea about the NA.
