30 psi boost gauge problem! HELP HELP HELP

I have an 06 SS/SC and I installed the SS/TC 30 psi gauge in it. I read on here that it was just plug and play and would allow me to read up to 22.25 psi. But it automatically reads really high. As if the needle is just moving to the same spot as it would on the 20 psi gauge. So where I would usually buust 17 or 18 psi it will read as 26 or 27 psi on the 30 psi guage. Is there a way to calibrate the boost gauge reading? What is the problem here? The gauge works fine but the reading is off. Does anyone know that can help me out?

If the two gauges have the same range of sweep, you will probly need a boost sensor that goes up to 30 psi to make it work right.

WHat do you mean by boost sensor? Is that an actual part or are you being theoretical? Because I'm looking for a real world solution, like what is the problem and what part or what type of tuning change would make this work? Specifically. Does anyone have any idea?

Bump for an answer

Anyone have any clue on this?

Most GM MAP sensors operate over the same voltage range. This means that switching from a 1 bar MAP to a 2 bar MAP requires ECM changes to designate the correct vacuum/boost reading based on MAP sensor voltage. The problem you are having is similar. Since both boost gauges have a 0-5volt sweep, both gauges will max at the same boost level unless you switch to the correct corresponding MAP sensor with the 30psi gauge. Unfortunately, this will also require an ECM change to keep the tune accurate.

Matt is absolutely correct - when it comes to these electrical boost gauges, 0v = min boost, 5v = max boost, regardless of what the gauge range is.

In the case of installing a TC boost gauge in an SC, you are switching from a 2.5 bar MAP to a 3 bar MAP. I just used 1 and 2 bar as an example.

just put your 20psi back on or get an aftermarket

looks like you're going to pay out the ass for an OEM 30
