300 hp build
300+whp is really easy its called nitrous and its safe if used right... with nitrous, more fuel and pistons you can make 350+whp safe. Most wont venture down this path though, lets just hope it works for me this time around with nitrous
As for the Atom, they are really expensive when you consider its not a car you can drive every day. Last I heard they are $35,000-$45,000 depending on options. For the money you can get so many other cars that ARE daily drivers, so it takes a lot of loose change (read: rich) to make the atom a practical purchase. I imagine you cant get a normal car loan for one of these cars either and that means either a hefty interest rate on a personal loan OR that you are a wealthy person with money to spare. Then again, a person who buys one of these could just be a middle aged man looking to blow his retirement.

I drove my Atom to Oklahoma last fall (2700 miles) with 300 lbs of camping gear in it and it did not miss a beat. The trip was them followed by 4 heavy track days at Atomfest. Got >30MPG on the trip out too and only maintenance needed was an oil change. So I would say it is probably the most practical supercar / track car you can get.
I got a regular car loan for mine and have insurance for it. I have it registered like any other car.
After 2 years with it, I would not trade my Atom for any other car out there.
