what BLUETA says is absolute truth. octane ratings have nothing to do with how clean an engine's valves are, It has nothing to do with how clean the gas is, and its ability to resist deposits.
Now there is a diff in gas from different manufactures. Gas manf. have a guideline they have to follow as far as how many detergents are in their gas. but some companies (discount gas, wawa, giant, bj's) only due the minimum. While other companies (shell) go above and behond what is required. if you are worried about deposits buy from a top tier fuel company such as shell.
