Don't hold your breath for a number, Todd. Your car just never wants to cooperate. We need to start tuning early saturday...

I am uber disappointed in the performance of cobalts anymore. I havent been happy with mine since back in the stage 2 days.
If my 2.8" m62 hits the 260hp mark I will be content for the most part.

but im curious what the math is to figure out how much, or is it many, psi i would gain from running to 7500 instead of 7000? i seem to run about 5 percent lower than normal tvs cars on the psi side of things, so how many psi are gained form stock 3.15 at 20psi at 7k to 7.5k, then i can do backwards math to fgure out where i would be with my setup smaler pulley and higher rpms.... im on nyquil right now so if it sounds like nonsense please point me in the right direction

i blow 1 injector o ring and u get all bitter..ur negativity is going to bite u in the ass someday lol like i said a few minutes ago.. the numbers arent the most important part..the most important part is that the car continues to make progress..

besides..325 - 330 is simply a goal this time around.. if i hit it.. great .. if i dont.. thats great too.. i still have a goal to shoot for next time.. and i can continue to work and play with things until i reach my goal and i can set a new one.. be more positive kid.. u kill me sometimes

this is literally a game to me its fun to watch it all grow and come together.. i wouldnt mind learning how to tune sometime... just no time to learn as of right now between school and work

on my car i have found the following

3.1 can make 23 psi
2.9 can make 24 psi
2.75 can make 26.5 psi
2.6 can make 25 psi.
this is at 7600-7800 rpms.

odd isn't it?

i think i might have been getting belt slip with the 2.6. guess i have an excuse to use the gtp tensioner pulley i have been sitting on for 2 years

Area, My GTP is finally running. Sounds like a big block with that xpz camshaft installed. Needs some here and there but runs very strong. Put 140 miles on it so far and checked the compression it's making exactly 198psi on all six cylinders, wow! I had federal mugal make me a set of high RPM pistons that are 1/4 of the weight of the factory pistons and only 1" high piston skirts, amazing huh? I have 150lb valve springs and all ther fun ****! I was going to set the shift points after the break in to 8500rpm's???

What do you think?

ya that sounds like a lot of belt slip hahaha... the way the graph looks youll prob make 28.5 to 29psi on that 2.6.

i keep going back and forth on what to do next. i am going to install all my parts then go for rpm first... then when i get that settled in ill go for more psi and well thats down the line a bit

I'll help your probably looking at about a grand just for the parts and gaskets, you'll need a new head gasket, timing cover gasket, valves, valveseals, solid lifters from bates, and the spring kit. I'll come up and help you as soon as you've got the parts!

Again I reiterate this type of RPM increase will be great but you'll run the risk of damaging valve seats it's actually common, However with the above mentioned and the balancer delete (which I would talk to ZZP now that they have a kit) you'll have the ability to run up to 12-13000pms, you'll have to save your pulleys cause you'll over rev the supercharger up there, but it will balance out the hp/tq curve and not to mention sound amazing. Just get ready to buy a standalone..... or I can talk to HPT tech and find out if there is an algorithom to bypass the 8200 cutoff???...

I'll also have to port the int/exh alot more to support these RPMs!!!

It'll be awsome................

II beleive there are 2 or 3 rpm limiters within the car...

Im pretty sure one of them is softwired in somehow..

Short stack do you now how I can help freakta out? Does he have to go standalone? I hope HPT tech can help make a patch or algorithim??? If a fucken honda or nissan can do it there is no reason we can't!

YOU THINK ITS A ****** GAME!!?!?!?
I don't like your car. It doesn't like me. I'ma have to beat it around on saturday
I actually don't like tuning that much anymore, for the same reasons you stated. No time. I got other **** to do like finish up my graduate degree and gtfo of this place.
I have realized I want more out of life than just chasing track times and dyno numbers. Rather save money for other things than waste it on big mods for the car just to have the empty achievement of a piece of paper with a number on it. The car is just a toy I like to play with sometimes. Cant let it get in the way of my life.

Dan's car has **** teh bed again (hesitating and making lots of noise). He wants to pull the head and do a build. I keep telling him to just unload the car and buy an SS/TC.

It was a toy when it was stock. I just am going to enjoy it for what it is instead of always chasing a unicorn (numbers).
I've never been happy with numbers. always happier just driving it
Modding is fun and I probably will always do stuff to my car, but I won't worry about trying to impress people with its numbers.
