Probably b/c our tach is slow in 1st & 2nd, I could understand why he would do it but I wouldnt b/c I dont like the look, just put a shift light on that beast and be done w/ it. The shift light isnt going to be slow....

What kind is it? Usually the tach is hooked up to ground, coil, and power. Instructions should tell you what the fourth is or, if its needed. I think the fourth will depend on how many cylinders you have... What have you already hooked up?

Red and black are probably +12v switched and ground. Green is probably signal from coil and yellow is probably +12v switched for lighting. I'm just guessing here without any more info.

For hooking up the signal wire for the tach, check out this thread:

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...ghlight=raptor

It's for installing a shift light, but the signal wire should be the same.
