Question Aem uego Install question

Im about to install my aem uego wideband gauge and my interceptor gauge and i was wondering if its ok to tap into the stock boost gauge harness to power both gauges? and on the aem gauge it requires that you ground the black wire i think and was wondering if the stock boost gauge harness has a ground wire that i can tap into as well? also is there a easy 1-2 way to un-clipping the stock boost gauge harness without cutting the wires cause i try for like 5 min before i went to work to un-clip real quick and i couldn't un-clip it cause i didn't know which was to push the clips or whatnot..all info appreciated thanks

For the 12 volt power source, tap a fuse in the fuse box. Shove it in with the wiper fuse. I put my grounds around one the the bolts that holds the obd2 port in place under the dash.

You could also run a 12v hub if you plan on having more interior accessories.

your stock boost gauge wont supply enough power, but like stated above, tap into the fuse box located on the passanger side left side wall...

also good place to run the o2 wires is through the drivers door, and threw the fender, since the aem eugo male/female connectors are big

Use an Add-A-Circuit for the power. You can buy them at any car parts store. Just plug it into an one of the fuse ports that turns on when you turn on the car, and use the wire from it to connect to your power wires. This is so in the future if you want to remove it, there is no rewiring necessary. I ran mine from the fuse panel on the passenger side interior of the center console below the front cup holders. Remove the side panel and you'll see it. You can also use the metal frame that has a 10mm bolt for the gound. Route the wires to where you want the gauge, and the wire from the 02 sensor through the rubber grommet near the steering shaft.

Here is an example fo the add-a-circuit:

would this be easier than running it threw the firewall under the clutch pedal?

The stock boost gauge does supply enough power for the uego... And pull the carpet back on the driverside floorboard to find a hole in the firewall to shove the wire through... Thats how mine is ran.

prolly since the head on the aem gauge is bigger than ur average boost gauge or gauge connection head, plus they give u **** load of wire to play with

the AEM setup uses a heater to heat the sensor....
it draws ALOT more power than that little stock boost gauge wire can handle.

I couldnt even put my interceptor and AEM on the one power source, the aem drew to much and the interceptor could barely turn on

give it a healthy powersource.

ok ill just run the aem on a different power source.. and ill splice the stock boost gauge to power my interceptor.. thanks

on a side not does anyone know a easy way to unclipp the stock boost gauge harness...without cutting the wires?

From what i understand, the newer interceptors are powered right from the OBD port

Use an add a circuit like they said previously. I used the top strut mount bolts for grounds. Paul helped a lot with the install for me. It wasn't bad at all though.

yeah im about to give paul a call as i dont wanna sit in the street trying to wire **** up in 16 degree weather..lol i already put the gauges in the pillar and ran the wires down by my clutch and tied them off so i can wire them up later...

a quick question about the interceptor..it does power up via the obd2 port..but say when i plug in the obd2 sensor the interceptor turns on without me starting the car and when i do start the car its all good, but when i turn it off the gauge turns off normaly but when i re-start the car the gauge doesnt turn on..i need wire up the power wire(i took what other ppl said and just plugged in the obd2 wire into port)

You need a power line for the Interceptor. Make sure you run it to something that is on only when the ignition is on though.
