So I finally let my friend drive my SS after about two weeks of nagging me. His car is stick and I felt comfortable with him driving. First off, he wheel hopped the hell out of it so I punched him, and I told him to put it in second at 4K rpms....Then he got on it in second and went to go in third and I guess the ******* got trigger happy and all i hear is vroooooooooooooooooom then grinding ....so I made him get out and walk back to campus....lol...about a mile or so..

I have a general idea of what he did, but what did he screw up in the process of "shifting"...what parts in the tranny are hurting?

 

Nothing is hurting, but the flywheel will get fubarred if you aren't careful and make a habit of it

 

should be ok with just once i would think. unless he forced it really hard while it was grinding.

if your feeling **** about it, change your trans oil, check the drain plug for any major filings.
