Airbox mod question

Sooooo...... We cut off the entire box with the mod, and now the car is running lean as hell and it ruined the o2 sensor. Wtf. Anyone else have this problem. The car only has 4000 miles on it.

what kind of filter do you have. did you only cut the box off? cutting the box off woudln't cause the car to run lean at all. if it's messing up the maf, maybe you sucked something up through the filter?

No, we put a power adder filter on it, and sealed the bottom back up, like the part you have to pull off the wheel well. Idk... they didn't say the MAF was bad.

it's def. not the airbox mod that's doing that. is there a leak somewhere either in the intake or exhaust?

i didn't encourage anyone to do anything. and an airbox mod does not damage your car at all. some people want to learn new things. and you don't learn new things by not doing them. if something goes wrong, you ask questions to figure out what you can do to fix the problem. stop giving the guy a hard time.

it's a very, very common mod. what does 4k miles have to do with it. it improves air flow a little bit and sounds better. a high percentage of people that don't have aftermarket intakes have done the airbox mod. again, it doesn't hurt anything, and is not the reason why he's having problems with his 02 sensor.

/stupid argument

I know what the mod is , it improves noise i want to see the flow chart that shows that it improves anything besides noise and i am also aware that it has nothing to do with his 02 sensor.

Dude, take a chill pill. Do a search, someone posted a time slip with the stock box and a modded box. I don't remember exaclty how much time he lost, but it was faster with the modded box.

Darkmanx please stop with the rude posts. Now to the poster, as mentioned before try cleaning the MAF worst comes to worst just replace it. Also try a K&N Filter. no modding to get it to fit.
