Over 2 years of taking my time, waiting for good deals, collecting parts as I could afford them, trading work for part, etc... And the completion is finally in sight

The stock sleeve support and the clamping force of the head. The place that makes these for papaw uses this exact design in open deck honda sfwd cars pushing 900 wheel at over 40psi.

they set really close to stock and the very bottom of the block is not used so get to your point

So you think it's going to just shove the aluminum out of its way? Come on.

It's held the same way every other sleeve is. And with a much wider shoulder than most. On top of that, it's press fit and epoxied in place.

For the record im not against this idea. Its very clever.
y not stick to the drop in sleeves that seem to be working just fine. Add a little upper support to tie the block together. Steves engine is proof of that.

Bates sleeves settle into the block and yes alan it can push into the aluminum. All it takes is sleeve to move a couple of tenths to unseal the HG.
Y do u think bates calls for his sleeves to stick out .002-.003 and oring the top of the sleeves.
