seemed to be wheel hop was causing mine to pop out. no wheel hop take-offs, no problem. if i launch hopping, first thing i do is pull over and check that dip-stick. never pops out any other time.

Mine still pops out every time I rev it to 8000rpm so I tied it in.

Just put the 2.85 S/C pulley on and the first thing that happened afterwards it popped the dipstick out on a drive and oil was all over the place. Never popped it out before the pulley change so obviosly it created a problem somewhere. Probably gonna just put a breather off the back of valve cover.

The TSB to fix this problem apparently is only for 05-06 models. The 07's should already have the nwer designed intake gaslet on them.

After further investigation I think I may have hit the dipstick while removing and putting back on the supercharger and not seen it sticking up 1/2". I pushed it back in and took the car out for 20 minutes of full boost driving 1st thru 4th gear redline half a dozen times, came home and the dipstick was fine. Hopefully thats what I did and its not a problem of something else! It now hasnt popped out in the last 5 days so it seems to be fine.

Port and polish with ferrea valvetrain.and the 272 grind cams. I have the rev limiter set to max 8150 I am going to try messing with the ingear modifier and see if I can get it up higher.

Hey guys, i just started my car from a parking lot (06' Cobalt SS/SC) and noticed the engine light come on and a pool of oil under the engine - the Engine oil cover was gone.. i found this very suspicious, becuase.. all i had done was started the car, i didnt drive it into the ground on the way to the grocery either.. I found an old picture i had taken (about a week prior) of the engine and noticed in that picture that the oil cap was turned half-way when it should have been straight.. so it looks like to me it slowly loosens itself until it comes off.

Are you stupid? take off the zip ties and duck tape the pressure is trying to get out where you think its gonna go if you lock it up? First do a compression check , if everything appears normal then change the dipstick and gasket.

don't worry about tieing the dip stick down. darkmanx doesn't know what he is taking about. He must like cleaning oil off the engine all the time. When I was running tons of boost it would pop out on me if it wasn't tied down. It is a badly designed pcv system.

Mine popped out on the dyno.. and i know for a fact when that happen my number 4 piston had broke and a cracked ring allowing the compression to seak threw the broke piston. The dip stick doesnt just pop out for no reason. its the number 4 piston

trust me on that one i took my engine apart after that run, got it towed to my house and starting to take everything apart and i saw my number 4 piston was cracked right down the left side of it
