another exhaust cut-out question

another exhaust cut-out question
This is my current set-up:
Corsa Touring Exhaust
GM Stage 2 w/stage 3 pulley
Vibrant Long-Tube Headers w/dp
CAI
I want to install my exhaust cut-out that I have, but I'm not too sure if it will give me power; whether it's torque or hp or even both. My exhaust is 2.5 from header back. I'm not sure as to where to install the cut-out. I thought the best place to install it would be in the downpipe, before the cat. Is this ok? I just took my car to a shop and the guy said that it would be a tight fit and plus the wires for the 02 sensor isn't long enough. He also mentioned that he would have to remove the cat fron the downpipe, and install it closer to the resonator, in order to get enough room in the dp. Should I do this method? Or, he said to take out the resonator and weld a pipe there with the cut-out welded to the pipe. What should I do? Where would be the best place to install it power wise? I've seen some videos on youtube and I have also read postings here on the site, but nobody has a set-up like I do that has installed a cut-out. Please come foward if you do. If you don't have this set-up...please advise or just help me out! It would cost $65-1hr to $95-1.5hrs.
