Exclamation Anybody seen this type of leak ?

So We had a couple of rainy days any the driver's side floor got soaked, i was intrigued by the nasty smell earlier today and noticed that my floor mats were wet, i thought they were from my shoes but not after two days :x so anyways i took the carpet off and offcourse there was water, it was regular water, and i havent used the AC in a while, it doesnt seem that it came from the shift cables hole or the firewall holes, those areas were kinda dry but yet again it might dried over the last two days, i was told it might a drain hose that got clogged, I wouldnt be surprised coz i had both draines in the trunk clog and my trunk had a pond of water in the spare tire compartment, if anybody had this problem please let me know, i havent done anything to the car lately as i dont have time and been having a lot of issues :x

here's a pic :

I would suggest sitting in the car, and have someone spray the car with a hose and seeing if you can see leaks, though sometimes that doesn't work.

the only water leak problems ive had with my cobalt were from the aftermarket speakers in the doors. the factory speaker mounts were removed and mdf plates made. what happened was water came down the window and into the inside of the door (completely normal, thats why the doors have drains), dripped onto the magnet of the speaker, worked its way around to the front of the speaker, onto the door pannel and dripped on the carpet. took forever to figure it out, but thats what it was. made plates for the stock speaker adapters and havent had an issue since.

Take it through a car wash and see if you can see it leaking.

it would be much easier to diag if you didnt have an interior. could save you up to 400 pounds by completely gutting the car and it would make tracking water leaks simple

my cousin just had that happen to her, she was told that it was her sunroof drain hose that clogged, the water backed up into the same area and in the little drawer thing we have on the left under the steering wheel.

Does anyone know where they actually exit the car at? I've never seen them besides where they connect up at the sunroof.

The only drain tubes that ive seen for the sunroof go all the way thru the headliner all the way to bac k of the trunk on both sides, one on each side, you have to remove the carpet on the sides, and the left one is behind the factory subwoofer if you have it...

The car have almost dried up, i will be inspecting it tomorrow or wednessday... thanks for all the tips everyone

clogged sun roof drains can cause water to run forward no doubt, and then down

Is it wet in the driverside backseat as well? I noticed one day my floor was wet. Pulled out all the carpet and found it was actually coming in from the back driverside somewhere and running up to the front. Narrowed it down to it was leaking in when the car was just sitting and not when I was driving. I suggest you figure out the same. Makes it much easier to diagnose. It ended up being the rubber door stripping. It's help in with clips and right at the top where it starts to curve and go down it has 2 sided tape. Well mine had lifted and the water was running down the door and into the backseat.
