Exclamation Anyone else getting P0171 cod

I am getting this cod after I have changed my Oil and cleaned my car. I have read some other thread that was the same. I also know that some people have been getting this with the air box mod. KN filters 1009 seem to through this error too.

I am gust looking to see who else is getting this error and what they have done to it.

Also reply back to any fixes found like tighting down the air box clamps and inlet tube.

I will be putting my car in for service Tue and will report back with what the fix is.

take the K&N filter out before u go for service. that might be the code thats thrown because the oil from the filter is getting into the engine. I know ppl have had that problem before and dealerships aren't too happy about it.

I have the exact same problem. Installed a K&N, had no problems for 4 days. Then changed oil at work, drove home, washed the car, started her up and BAM I throw P0171 Lean code. Everyday I clear it it comes back in a ferw hours. I just dont see how it can be a MAF sensor problem because Im a auto tech when a MAF sensor gose the car runs like ****. I checked the clamps and oil dip stick and nothing is wrong. I'm really stumped on this one.

take the whole intake out and reinstall it (still w/kn) making sure all plastic is sealed
check for vacuum hoses that are leaking/unpluged esp the one that goes under the spark cover by the kinkyuturn
if you listen to the engine you can usually hear them
the filter itself is not defective, it will not kill the map sensor unless drenched

If oil from the filter gets on the sensor, then small particles get stuck to the oil, the sensor will throw a code. Try spraying electrical cleaner on the sensor, if you can get to it. Everytime I clean and oil my filter, I throw a code in about 1 week.

Got car back from dealer and it is CEL free know. They changed the air filter. I beleve that it was stated befor but the pleats not being uniform causes this error. GM tech said that GM is working on a replacement filter.

Thanks for all the help on this issue.
