Anyone using aftermarket cams yet?

Hey guys. I was just browsing at some of the cams available for our cars. I'm curious if anyone has any yet, which brand you went with, specs, gains, any information you can provide.

Here is a link to the comp cams stage 3:

http://www.gravanatuning.com/applica...ft_Set_Stage_3

And here is a link to JBP's:

http://www.jbodyperformance.com/new/...catName=JP0868

Current plans for my car are to do the CTI Long-tube header w/3" downpipe, and the full 3" cat-back. Then I'll do a ported blower, and that will be it for this year. I want to run consistant 12's with that. When spring comes, and tax returns hit, I'm FLIRTING with the idea of cams. I thought about doing a head/cams package with forged pistons. Honestly, my car is on a smart buy, and I keep telling myself not to go too far with this car. Atleast with bolt-ons, I can return the car to stock in about a day, when it comes time to turn the car back in. Anyway, anything at all from anyone about cams for these cars? Thanks

The comp cams at gravana will NOT work, they are meant for the 2.2L ecotec as the cams have differn't overall lenghts.

Wow, thanks for the heads up! Do you guys currently offer any cams that are 2.0 specific? I thought for sure that Comp was making some for us, and I think JBP's will work for us too. Thanks again!

I guess because I'm crazy. Rob's is also on a lease. Off topic: When I originally bought this car, I was looking at a LS2 6speed GTO. The price, payments, and insurance, not to mention gas mileage was alot worse on the GTO. I decided to go with this car, and wanted to get it to run 12's. Ultimate goal was a solid mid-high 12 second daily driver that would trap 110mph consistantly. This car was all around more affordable, and a better choice for my family. I am saving alot of money each month by having this car instead of the GTO. After coming this far with the car, and realizing how much I've spent-I should've went with the GTO. I've entertained the idea of selling this car the way it is, and if someone offered me enough for it, I'd sell it. I am amazed, however, at how reliable, and streetable this car is, while still getting good gas mileage. It never ceases to impress people at the track, either.

Modding a lease isn't smart unless you decide to buy it but if you guys turn in a modified car, that could hurt you in the end when you try to turn it in.

I wouldn't be dumb enough to turn it in modified . That's why I said in my post that I can return it to stock in a day. I've kept all of the stock parts, and will put the car back to stock before turning it in.

Good point. Atleast we won't have to worry about trade-in value.

yah I got the JBP Stage II cams,
I gained about 15HP over stock without tuning at the top end, but I lost about, but I show a loss in power for everything below 2800RPM, but it's a steady claim after that.
there is huge potential with these cams, but I'd be carful if your going to put this on a stock valvetrain, it's too iffy at 7000RPM.

Do you have any dyno sheets? Yes, the stock valve springs are iffy even on stock cams at 7,000rpms. It's interesting to see that you lost power in the low rpms. What are the specs on the cams you have? Also, have you gotten a custom tune with HP Tuners?
