^^^^^thats the sound mine was doing at idle. never had that bad start up noise though

 

Mine went around 1,000 miles. No joke. Couldn't duplicate it for almost 15,000 miles so I could replace it under warranty. Mine fell apart also.

 

Hmm, good post OP. Mine makes a audible rattle/tick while idling, but very randomly does this. Mine is an 06 too. I'll be sure to go ahead and swap mine out, it sure would be nice if this random noise disappeared afterwards. Thanks again for the info

 

do the dealers have an upgraded one.. I think i need a new one.. when at start up it sounds like its the chain... then it will go away

Was this a recall? I haven't received a letter stating so. Also if it is a recall, I will be taking my car into the dealer and having them run my VIN in their computer to show me what other recall's could be an issues that I haven't heard about.

Just saw this, I haven't had any problems with my old style tensioner even after my first mild build, but I'll definitely go ahead and replace it this time around. Thanks for the heads up.

Does anyone happen to know where you can get the revised lash adjusters?

 

no idea on the lash adjusters. i heard they are quite beefier though?

 

Yea, I heard they look way beefier. I'd like to replace mine since mine recieved a bit of a beating from the 100lb supertechs that I had.
