Actually its not permanent if you later wanted to put balance shafts back in for whatever reason. Just remove the 1/8 allen and put a new set of bearings in if you have the kent moore tools like I have. The bearing only allows enough oil out of the galley to lube the shaft journal. Most people would never revert back.

The 3/8 hole can also be used for an oil return line if needed.
