I would just in case. You never know what could happen while you're in there.

You guys have got to be kidding me. I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, but what do you guys think can actually happen? Nothing. I've changed more spark plugs/coil packs/wires/distributors then I can even remember. You'll be fine!

We're not saying that something will happen definitely. He could probably go his entire life without anything ever happening. But it's that one in a million chance that something does.
Disconnecting the battery seriously takes thirty seconds, why wouldn't he?

Well because when you disconnect your battery you also reset your fuel trims. Takes some time to get them back to normal. It's not a big deal though, and disconnecting it is just wasting time (sure it's not a lot but why bother). I would like to know what you guys are seriously thinking the spark plugs have to do with the battery though? That's like saying disconnect it when you change your tire or cai or something.

Yeah you guys don't need to worry about that. I know what you're saying by better safe than sorry but in this situation it's fine.
