Been gone for awhile, but I know this question has probably been asked MANY times.

What's the scoop w/ stage 2 and the 2.8 and 42lb injectors? Are people having significant problems with it? Is the majority having no problems? I've been gone for to long to see or hear problems w/ it. I'm trying to stay under warranty and don't want to get screwed or pay more than I need to. Th

2.8 is really the limit of how far you should go with 42's. Some folks have been running around with the setup with no problems.

Recently the trend seems to be that in the upper RPM ranges the injector duty cycle is getting close to or going over 100%... very bad. Ideally you want the IDC to be around 80% max... or you risk having your injectors lock open.

Personally... I'm not gonna go that far. 2.9 with the 42's is as far as I'm going.

Nothing personal here at all... but I distinctly remember reading quite a few threads lately about how Intense's "can" tunes are crappy and need to be re-worked right out of the box. Lotsa peoples cars breaking.

If you're worried about warranty at all... go GM Stage two... toss on a 2.9... you'll be fine.

oh no...you gotta go with 60lbs. If you use 42lbs you're going to work them to thir peak potential. Thats not what you want to do.

Agreed.....people just throw out universal rules that don't apply to eveyone.

The 2.8 and 42 argument has many factors that people tend to ignore like temperature, altitude and if you ever run your car over 6000rpm, which some people don't....

Being real close to sea level and at about 50 degrees over 6200 rpm the 42's are over 100% duty cycle, but i rarely run my car that far, most of the time i stay under 4K. Someone going to chime in and tell me that I can't run my 2.8 safely for my situation???

So for everyone telling him no you can't or yes you can SHUT UP, its not that simple.....

Ok some actual dyno performance and experience.

Last weekend, i dyno'd my car at 244whp and 220lb torque. Im running GM stage 2, Injen CAI, Ark catback exhaust, and a 2.8" pulley.

Before 6grand, my AF was where it should be, After 6 grand, it ended up going crazy and running lean as ****. I actually got a lean misfire, which is known to take out pistons.

Needless to say, my car barely goes over 5k now. Until I get it tuned, it will not be seeing 6k and it won't see much boost, if any at all either. Gas Mileage FTW!!
