Belt tensioner ?

I noticed the belt tensioner is sorta bouncing and feels loose.. if you get close to it you can here it making a taping like noise. But im not sure what im all replacing here,

Will the Dayco or Dates work ok on a gm stage 2 car? Is this part just the pulley or the whole setup? need the shock absorber looking thing

ok in pink i circled the part

the yellow arrows point to the area I noticed bouncing or play. Also the tensioner pulley sorta bounces up and down. so what is the proper part to order? it seems like I can only find the pulley for it?

Dayco and Gates are quality OEM replacement parts that you can find at most auto parts retailer stores like Auto Zone, Advance, Bumper-to-Bumper, etc. There stuff is good. I really like Gates over Dayco. In fact, OTTP uses Gates for their oversized tensioner pulley. I know the exact part number, but I'm not going to burn potential sales for them.

$26 sounds like just a pulley.

looking at the pics it does not come with the strut. What I recommend trying is to see if the strut has a part number on it and taking that to an auto parts store to see if it crosses over to anything.

Btw, ZZP is a good vendor too. ZZP and OTTP are the best IMO.

All right, the dealership is the only place i found it you can not get the strust looking thing by itself, you have to get the whole thing. The cost of it is 238$ yeah expensive. We need to make a tensioner the is a adjustable one like the older cars, you know.....
