Blow off valve for Supercharger?

I read in a magazine that you can bolt on a blow off valve onto a supercharger. Is this true? Does it sound like it would with a turbo? Oh, and I know I'm a noob, no need to point it out. lol...

Everyone and their mothers are going to tell you to do a search, as this has been beaten into the ground quite a bit.

If I remember correctly our type of blower doesn't

A BOV will only work on a Centrifugel (sp?) type supercharger. Our car has a roots type and can't have a BOV.

I have one on my Vortech (centrifigal)

The roots blower (Cobalt) does not use one.

I remember seeing a company that makes a speaker that goes under your hood and makes the "swish" sound every time you let off the gas. It was over at Stangnet (when I had my Mustang GT) and the V6 guys were like "oh where can i get that!"

only centrifugal can use a bov. There is no room for one with a roots or twin screw. There is a reason to have one with a centrifugal tho. it does the same thing it does for a turbo. Once the throttle is closed there is excess pressure that is stuck in there and it will want to get out. The only way for it to get out without a bov is back thru the compressor which is not good! Since a centriugal s/c is basically a modified turbo, it does the same thing. a bov just makes your centrifugal s/c or turbo more reliable.

lol ONLY 120 DOLLARS FOR A FAKE BLOW OFF VALVE!!!! WOW!! I dont understand why anyone would want that. Then you will just get challenged by bigger, badder cars and lose even worse. I think i should give my friend one for his birthday. He has an early 90's accord that we put a cardboard spoiler on along with a meijer 5 inch exhaust tip and a cardboard hood scoop. yea, its pushin some major hp.
