Boost: Anyone getting 12psi?

Because I'm in Canada, I have a lame metric boost guage, but I've noticed i'm only getting about 70 KPa of boost (just over 10psi). I should be getting about 83 from what I thought...

Is anyone getting 12Psi?

seriously though how many miles do you have on the car I thought that you wont get your peak PSI until the car is nice and broken in

I get to 12.5psi all the time. If your keeping the rev's low don't expect to hit full boost.

Peak boost comes at redline, so I ran it right up and bounced her off

750mi is barely broke in.

Also did the boost guage come with the car? Boost guages manufacturers tend to put in cars from the factory aren't known for their accuracy.

Ah, same gauge the SRT-4 comes with... (maybe a different scale tho)

Yea, not very reliable. Mine indicates about 1.5psi of boost with the car off. Others have been off by as much as 5psi. My advice -- don't trust the stock guage.

I just picked up the 30psi Autometer guage w/ warning & recall. Everyone I know that has one of those is much happier with it's quality & accuracy.

Hey B-Spot, I'm in Canada as well so I've got the same gauge as you and I'm running around 80-85KPa of boost. That would seem to put me around the 11.6-12.3 psi of boost. Car is barely broken in as well, with a little over 500km's. Stuck at work at the moment, but I'll try to keep an eye on the gauge on my drive home to get a little more accurate reading and post later.

My car up around 5500-6000rpms is at 13psi. It seems to be a bit higher since I opened up the stock airbox.

Mine peaks about 12.5 psi's...In the SS the gauge resets itself everytime you turn the car on and seems to be pretty accurate from what I can see but I am not sure about the SRT-4's...

Does anyone know if these are mechanical guages or are they connected to a sending unit?

Thanks man, interesting to hear you get about the same boost. Sounds like maybe the KPa guages are off just a little bit.
