Boost Gauge

In the manual it says when the car is set to RUN(i assume that means engine on) the boost gauge should be at 0. mine has never been at 0. always idles at around -60KPA/-8.7PSI on the boost gauge... and maximum i've ever seen it boost to with RPM's at redline is like 70KPA=10PSI. Thought we were supposed to be like 12 stock. maybe its because my citys so high above sea level, dunno. anyone else notice this?

Do a search It takes time to break in the motor and then your boost will increase, as for the gauge reading 0 you need to shut the car off then turn the key to run position without starting it and your gauge will return to 0

Mine didn't reach 12.5 psi until I had about 3k on it

Simply do the by-pass mod and you will get full boost.

No, putting the key in the "RUN" position, means" To place the ignition switch to the position before CRANK". Do not start the engine, just turn to the position before crank. You are checking to besure the gauge is calibrated.

no ones guage reads 0 during idle it is in vaccum at that point...... also you will not see full boost until around 2k - 3k ... boost levels also depend on atmospheric pressure.

Also the boost bypass mod does not help you gain more boost with a stock set up it allows you to get all the boost you should from a pulley that puts out more than 12.5

k it all makes sense. yeah when just the key is inserted its at 0, then when the engine starts it drops. seems like everyone else has the same stock numbers. when i was around 1000km it was usually around 60KPA now that i just hit 2000km thats when i noticed sometimes going up to 70KPA.

if your engine is on. your always gonna have a "negative" boost. until you give it some gas.

Im at 4200 miles, and have yet to see 12psi, at least not that Im aware of. I keep my eyes more on the tach than the boost gauge when Im getting into it. Isn't is not supposed to get to 12 or 12.5 until around 6-6500k?

its most likely cause of ur elevation too, i know guys with 15k on their car hitting 10lbs of boost, not near me tho. I didnt even hit 1000 miles and stupidly (once or twice) i went WOT and hit 12.5lbs. Its because of my location, im directly at sea level give or take 100 ft. Just look up some kind of elevation to boost ratio and see if your maxing out your boost according to elevation. Cant beat long island NY tho, SEA LEVEL!! FULL BOOST

I'm at 1,100 miles and 4,000' ASL. I'm only seeing 10PSI, is there anybody else with my elevation that is seeing 12 PSI stock after a couple thousand miles? Anybody in CO or NM, I know albuquerque is at 5,000' ASL.
