BOV Install on Supercharger?????
BOV Install on Supercharger?????
I've heard numerous times that you can install a BOV on a supercharger. Just wondering, can you? if so, how?? I heard that it is both expensive and pointless, but would like the extra noise of a nice sounding BOV. I did a search on the net for a Supercharger BOV install, but came up with nothing, and can't remember where i seen the original post at. Someone share some Insight on this, thanks!
A BOV for a S/C is only used in centrifugal applications. A centrifugal supercharger is basically a turbine (like on turbochargers) but runs off a pulley/belt system instead of exhaust (in this case, a turbocharger).
i got 06 ss and i got a freind with a wrx witha swaped motor form japan a 6 speed sti motor but anyways he siad it is possible to put on and can get one on e bay for cheep it will only breath in air but will make the noice and searve no purpose
IT wont make sound in our application.. you'll never have excess boost pressure!!
seriously, after you figure this out.. ITS POINTLESS.. IT WONT DO ANYTHING!!!
they bypass valve takes care of any pressure differential across the supercharger.

wow...
thats all i can say....
if u disassemble the boost bypass valve, you wont get any boost, ur sc will wine, but the boost will stay at 0 bc ur bleeding it all out
thats what the bypass valve does: it bleeds out boost so you dont blow your **** up, and u can get more than 3mpg
