Start with the simple stuff. Bulbs and fuses, once we're sure those are working we can talk.

It shouldnt be the bulbs, I mean the odds of them going out at the exact same time?
And what fuse should I check?

He wasn't really being a dick. There's two places where there are fuses (fuse box and passenger's side floor), I doubt anyone knows off hand which fuse specifically they'd be.

Just an FYI if your car isn't on the tails wont work but the third will. So by saying this turn the car on then check it out might be amazed. Stumped me for awhile too.

The odds are NOT zero. I mean, if they were put in at the same time in the factory, then they both have the same number of cycles, and hours on them.
Its possible they burned out one at a time and you didn't notice until they were both burned out.

That happened to my dad once on his pickup truck. He had got ready to go to work, started his truck up, one headlight burned out right at turn on, then she started to drive and before he got out of the garage the other light went out.

So ya, check the light bulbs first Always start simple.
