Question BRAKE pads and ROTORS>

after many days of searching and reading on past threads i finally came to a conclusion. i first started off with the idea of buying drilled and slotted rotors , but i read many threads about them braking.... then i thought about getting slotted only.. but they eat pads... and after that i wanted dimpled rotors, but they are pricey and perform the same as stock ones... so i now want to buy plain rotors but high quality... who sells nice plain rotors? other than stock...brembos maybe?

Stock plain rotors. as long as they're the same thickness and within tolerance for runout they're all going to perform about the same. It's the pads that'll make the difference. EBC reds should be perfect for these cars or an aggressive daily sometimes racer.

i bought some plain rotors from R1 concepts. good price, think it was like 130-140 for the pair. they are the temp treated ones with coated center hubs so it doesn't get rusty. haven't put them on yet but they look quality.

EDIT: I have an LNF with the brembo's btw not sure what you have.

Drilled rotors are going to heat up faster and will eat pads.

Stick with plain.

we offer a great set of blank rotors that work well.

We can package them with EBC or Hawk pads

NAPA premium rotors are the best deal for quality blank rotors. This is the most common choice among road racers.

I painted my napa premiums with vht high temp clear, and after 6 months, still no rust and they are still shiny. I masked off the braking surface before I painted them. I abuse the hell out of them and still have no pulsation. I use organic pads with them too. Stay away from ceramics if you want good braking performance and want your rotors to last.

Ceramic is rotor friendly, it will glaze over though if you over heat it, it also makes for less dust and quieter brakes. Its one of the reason I went with the EBC's over the Hawks. If I glaze the brakes I can always fix that, cleaning the corrosive dust off the wheels constantly from the hawk hp+'s is just a pain.

R1 has standard and a higher grade iron option for the rotors. I wanna say regular is like G3000 and premium is G3500

would slotted rotors help de-glazing? im thinking of getting hawk ceramic pads

I dont think it would. The heavier rotor would normally help glazing because its due to too high of a surface temp on the pad. Brake ducts would stop the glazing.

For R1 e-line is the lower grade, premium is higher grade
