building my motor

Hey guys so this summer i plan on rebuilding my lk9 in my saab. my basic idea is to just get pistions and studs, and my goal is about 300 whp on either a 16 or 18t turbo with 465's or 630's injectors. I also figure that down the road the car might become a track car and i would reach for 400, but thats down the road so i have a couple of questions.

1. Should i consider rods for my 300 hp goal the big tuning company's (canned tune) just recommend pistons for anything over 300 to about 350, but i want to be safe, but if i dont need them why get them. i was considering either the golden eagles or the zzps with the arp 2000 studs

2. which pistons do you guys recommend? my preferred choice is weisco they are a cheap but good brand that i know and trust, but i also know of mhale and they are also cheaper and i do trust them but i have no experience with them.

3. I am going to be overhauling the whole motor is there anything i should look into thats maybe an uprated part, like timing chain tensioner or something of that nature?

4. The last questions i have is about the Hamburger's Performance 3322..... lol it seems like an oil filter relocation kit does anyone have any experience with it? is there a cheaper route? the only reason i ask is because i might run an oil accumulator.

thanks for any help and i do appreciate responses

oh and anyone know where i might be able to find mitshu td04 16t's or 18t's or do i have to go junkyard hopping.

its an basically an lsj theres some difference with the head casting i think cams and sensors and of course the intake mani.

its not worth the money to do a different turbo because i would have to drop money on a new diverter system and intake.

Are the rods same as LSJ? If they are, you'll be fine at 400whp.

I'd suggest whatever pistons you feel like, with ceramic coated tops. OEM head bolts and gasket, OEM bearings if you're gonna change them. Timing gear should be fine, get a new chain tensioner, so you have the newer LNF style oil-activated one.
