Prevents overboosting,
Is used to limit boost
Also is used when your not in boost to unload the supercharger so that
freespins and doesnt take away power

I think so too. Mine still works fine and ive never heard of anyone replacing it for a mod. Though I have heard of some people mucking with the hoses to trick the system into not reducing boost, but not sure exactly what they did.

^ This. I had to replace mine with the exact same part from zzp as one of the vacume hose tips broke. Its a direct replacement.

So that replaces the stock one which is this
Eaton - EATON Bypass Valve #

This may be a stupid question because i know the lsj cant have a bov but is the zzp replacement one essentially that with the different springs and shims?

No. The ZZP is an exactly OEM replacement for your existing BPV. If your BPV is functioning correctly you do not need this.
