A/C delete kit?
You will need a pulley to go in its spot. I would say it was easy, if you were not supercharged. you could just buy the cavalier ecotec with no a/c belt and have a belt that just ran crank to alt to tensioner. It would be 1 rib to narrow but thats not a big deal since the non lsj guys who are blown run our tensioner, blower, and alt 1 rib short.
Mr. Belevedere is correct/ Just remove your ac compressor, undo the rear through bolts remove the guts and the compressor housing, then bolt back on the car this will be the front compressor nose bracket with pulley and bearing . U u r done. Lite, cheap, no cost to you and perfect belt alignment.
PS be kind to the environment and first have the a/c charge properly removed with a/c equipment.

well. the way i went about doing it. atleast 25lbs of weight savings, better cooling of the engine, and i bet i can rev to 8,000 faster than a stock lsj can make it to 6500
Marginally, I bet if you dynoed a car back to back with the belt on and with it off it would make the same power (non a blown car of course). There's been tests done with other cars that show that the losses associated with the accessories is withing the error range of the dyno. At least newer cars that is.
depends on how extreme/expensive you want to go. personally unless you plan on strictly racing the car, i would stick to just gutting the compressor and leaving it's pulley. gains will be minimal other than weight, but it doesn't hurt.
theres no such thing as a zero friction pulley....... you still have a loss whether its electric or not.. not saying its huge though
10.6lbs actually. and no, the "no loss unless you turn it on" is incorrect. have you tried to spin the compressor by hand??? go do it, and tell me that isn't a good load on the belt.
