CA V1 Header Vs. Stock Header

Okay guys, I have the SS V1 Cobalt addiction header. And I believe the collector flange is warped. Every DP I bolt it too I burn out the collector gaskets. I bolt it to my XTC dp and the burn out,so I bolted it to my stock downpipe with the cat removed and it burned out. My question is how much better does the CA header flow over the Stock header? I don't feel like bothering with CA anymore, I've been through 2 headers they both warped, and I've had them crack 3 times. I'm tired of taking them off and shipping them back and waiting, all the time my car sits in the yard with no header. I could take it to a machine shop and have it refaced, but how long before it warps again? Is there anyone on here who can port out my stock header? Or will it hurt to run the stock header without having it ported? Anyway, any info would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I'm not happy with CA products, my header keep craking, the flex tube on the DP has broken 3 times, and my tune with the stage 3 has a misfire in the tune that I can't get rid of and the were supposed to tune for their catless downpipe and I still throw CEL for fauly cat reading (P0420). Just wanted to rant!

might be cheaper to just buy the gmpp header... its 7% flow improvement and smoother airways supposedly

and man thats a lot of BS you have to put up with from those parts, i'd be pissed too.

Actually the broken flex tube caused a fire when I had blowby, the oil sprayed all over the motor, and with the misfire I guess the spark went through the exhaust, out the leak and ignited the oil. It didn't help any that I run EXTREMELY Rich thanks to the generic tune!

I had a CA V1 and didn't have one problem, it also bolted up fine to the stock and XTC 2.5" downpipe, so i guess it depends on the batch or the car. But, the CA header doesn't really help much in the low and mid range, but you can definitley feel an increase at high rpm. I think changing out the downpipe would probably have about the same increase in power comparatively, but both would be better than just one.

If i were to get a shorty header again though, i would get the V2 because it looks like a more quality product and has a larger exit. The CA V1 has a smaller header exit than the stock manifold BTW, i ended up porting mine a bit also.
